Topic: Transforming Remittances and Exploring Transnational Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development

Remittances can be turned from consumption to investment resources that generate income and create long-term benefits for remittance-receiving households and their communities. This requires a shift in mindset and approach, as well as access to financial services and support. Thomas will outline the steps needed to make this transformation, including raising awareness, providing access to financial services, offering training and support, partnering with local institutions, and investing in social impact funds. By leveraging the skills, knowledge, and resources of both the migrant and the host country, transnational entrepreneurship can create new businesses that benefit both countries.

Thomas holds a masters degree from the Technische Universität Berlin in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, Business/Managerial Economics and a bachelors in international business from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin.
