MILKA OROMO (Panelist)Accountant at Heima GmbH | Founder of Pacesetters |
My Career Path in Finance & the Role of Pacesetters
My journey in my career began during high school, where my passion for commerce was evident. In my free time, my desk was always adorned with commerce textbooks, which I diligently studied cover to cover. This early interest guided my decision to pursue studies in Germany. Initially, I enrolled in a business-focused foundation course at a Studienkolleg and later pursued a degree in international business at Georg Simon Technische Hochschule Nürnberg. During my Bachelor's studies, there was no specialization available, but I knew I wanted to delve deeper into a specific area, which I could pursue at the Master's level. My first job was in marketing, but I found it wasn't the right fit for me, so I transitioned to a different role. Later, I underwent further training in finance, which has now become my professional home. When I first arrived in Germany in 2005, I encountered challenges in accessing information, which inspired me to establish Pacesetters, a platform aimed at guiding fellow Kenyans on important decisions such as business ventures or educational pursuits. Pacesetters shares success stories from abroad to inspire others in their journeys. |
