There are generally two types of requirements for undergraduate degree programs in Germany. Students who meet the higher education entrance qualifications are eligible for direct admission to study in Germany. Students who do not meet the necessary requirements must fulfill them in order to be enrolled in universities.
Here are the main requirements:
- Highschool certificate:
- Kenyan students aspiring to study in Germany must have at least a C+ in the KCSE. Students with other qualifications who are interested can reach out to us, and we will provide guidance.
- German Language:
- This depends on the study course: for english courses, most universities require as from A1/A2. For degree courses in German, German language requirement as from C1 is needed. Students who do not meet the requirements for direct admission must have at least B1/B2 German language certificate before they apply for course.
- Financial requirement:
- Students applying for studies in Germany must provide either a block account with 11904 euros (as from 2025), a scholarship or a sponsor to cater for the financial needs during studies in Germany. There are a good number of scholarships for international students in Germany. But it is advisable to begin searching for scholarships early enough while you are still in your home country. Please note that it is not easy to find scholarships for undergraduate courses.
