Apprenticeships (Ausbildungen) in Germany
Apprenticeship programmes (Ausbildungen) are training programmes offered in Germany for school leavers who choose not to pursue degree programmes. Students in apprenticeship programs are employed part-time by a company while attending school. Depending on the program, they may alternate between work and training weekly or monthly. The program typically lasts three years, with students receiving a monthly salary for their living expenses. To enroll, students must have a host company or training institution and a strong proficiency in German.
Opportunities in Germany for Kenyan Highschool Graduates
In collaboration with Hochschule Koblenz and Mount Kenya University, we have been placing Kenyan high school graduates passionate about training as healthcare professionals in German hospitals. This initiative is part of a research project under Hochschule Koblenz, which focuses on the sustainability of recruiting individuals from outside Germany. The project aims to identify the processes and systems that need to be enhanced to make the recruitment process more effective. So far, we have successfully placed 13 apprentices in 2 German hospitals, where the students are currently training to become nurses. The students are currently undergoing their training at Caritas in Bad Mergentheim. and in Krankenhaus Tauberbischofsheim. Starting in September, we will offer a new apprenticeship program for training as medical radiologists.
