We are excited to host three professional basketball coaches from Kenya who are in the current cohort of the sports scholarship at Leipzig University in Germany.
Lucy, Martin and Zedekiah are the current cohort from Kenya joined the programme in 2022 and will be joining us to share their stories, the benefits and how people can apply for the scholarships.

About the Scholarship
The International Coaching Course (ITK) is a postgraduate study course at the University of Leipzig in Germany for coaches and physical education teachers from developing countries. After graduation, the participants return to their home countries to pass on their skills they acquired to benefit local communities. Here is a brief background of the professional coaches
"I plan to empower local basketball coaches and PE teachers by conducting basketball clinics around Kenya. I hope to start community based basketball programs for kids and youths. The ITK program has been an eye opener and I have created several networks. It has equipped me with current skills on coaching, talent scouting, identification and nurturing. " Lucy Wanjiku Muhugu.
"I am of the persuasion that Sports unites people of all walks of life and it’s an effective tool for promoting the health and wellbeing of future generations. I have similar successful basketball program in Rwanda through partnership and my vision is to spread across East Africa. A current beneficiary of a state of the art basketball court upgrade in my community this month (2023) through such partnerships, this will go a long way in providing a safe space for boys and girls in my program and further contribute towards the development of basketball in the country.
